Mission Statement

CLMS purpose is to enhance people’s lives by giving individuals and families access to the Cape Lookout National Seashore. We have been given this awesome privilege of enjoying such a beautiful place that is special to so many. We strive to be good stewards of this opportunity and spend time and resources helping with beach cleanups, dune restoration projects, and other enhancements to the island.

We have supported and will continue to support a number of initiatives, organizations, projects, and the local school. Our involvement consists not only of financial contributions but a team of members that give of their time and talents. CLMS and its members are committed and dedicated to giving back so that future generations will be able to enjoy the beauty of the island and have the opportunity to make lasting memories like we have been able to do.

At CLMS, our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives.  We focus our efforts on 3 key events each year:

  • Take-a-Kid Fishing Weekend (Special Needs) - we bring very special challenged clients from the R.H.A. Howell Home and give them the opportunity to visit the island for a weekend of fun, sun, and fishing.

  • The Shelto Dixion Take-a-Kid Fishing Weekend (Orphans) - we bring orphans from the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford and give them the opportunity to visit the island for a weekend of fun, sun, and fishing.

  • Take-a-Vet Fishing Weekend (Veterans) – we entertain veterans that were enguaged in foreign conflicts and provide one of the best weekends of their lives.
